On February 20th 2013 in New York (USA) Sony held an event to announce the long awaited next-generation PlayStation 4. The PS3 successor has been designed for superior graphics and speed.
The PS4 will most likely be competing against Microsoft's new Xbox (still waiting for an announcement from Microsoft) and Nintendo's popular Wii U system.
Sony's PlayStation 4 websites says,
"Working with some of the most creative minds in the industry, PlayStation 4 delivers breathtaking and unique gaming experiences."
The new controller for the PS4 was also unveiled at the prestigous event. Sony state the PS4 DUALSHOCK 4 controller combines with the PlayStation 4 camera to create brand new experiences for the user. Features such as in-built motion sensors, honed and more precise analog sticks and other touch controls will make a truely next-generation controller. There will also be a dual lens camera which can sense the depth of the facing environment and track the exact location of the controller for enhanced gaming.
