Our task was to create a solution that would revolutionise the sports wear industry and allow Clubs, Colleges & Universities to receive an offering from Nike that they had never seen before. The solution for this would be in 3 stages – starting with a basic catalogue through to full online 3D kit design and ordering.
To work with Nike, their presidents and partner companies was a huge achievement for all at Maxweb and one we are happy to shout about.
Stage 1 of the project was to create an online presence with the ability to display catalogues for kit across a variety of sports including Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Equipment, Football, Hockey, Netball, Rowing & Rugby.
The website design was to abide by the strict brand guidelines of Nike and also to reflect the professionalism and excellence of the official Nike.com website.
As standard our solution would be fully responsive (meaning it will look great on all desktops, tablets and mobile phones), it would have a bespoke design (we never use templates) and it would be built with SEO in mind (meaning it will rank well).
You can see the results of our great work here.
Having worked with several sports kit brands in the past, Maxweb are highly experienced in creating bespoke kit design tools and providing customers with the freedom to design their own ideas online and order, this is exactly what stage 2 of our offering to Nike was.
Stage 2 – provide a platform for clients to select a design and fully bespoke with colours, logos, names & numbers etc. The system was to be 3D so you can view the kit from all angles and it was required to be fully e-commerce with the final order sheets being produced, ready for the factory to produce the garments. This development is still in progress.
The final stage of the project (Stage 3) was to create club shops for Clubs, Schools & Universities to have their own purchasing portals. The idea here is that all team members can visit the personal shop URL and purchase their team wear – in doing so they can also bespoke their own kit printing including Name, Number, Initials and in some cases Logos. Again this would be fully e-commerce and allow payments via all major payment methods.
