Why is it important to ask questions and build a rapport with your web designer?
The conversations that you have with your web designer will help give us the structure we need to build you a website that achieves exactly what you’re looking for. If you don’t have an open and honest dialogue with your web designer, you might have two different ideas about what your website will look like as a finished product.
The questions
In order to avoid any confusion and deliver a website that can do your business justice, we will ask you the following questions:
Why are you doing this project?
Starting simply, why do you even want a website? Explain to us what your business does, why it is important and how a website can help. This will give our team a good foundation to build from. Your answer to this question will get us thinking about the kinds of things we need to implement into your website for it to achieve your aims.
What do you need your website to do?
Now we’re going to get more specific by building on the last question. What exactly do your website need to do? Does it need to inform your customers about your brand? Is it a way to connect people, or entertain them? Do you want them to be able to buy from you online?
These questions are important for a few reasons. First, it will help us build on our previous thoughts about the functionality of the website. Second, it will give us an idea about how we will write the code and the copy for your website.
What does success look like to you?
When you set out on your business journey, what were you trying to achieve? This is more about analytics than anything else. What statistics do you want to see? Perhaps you’re looking to increase your engagement with your target audience or maybe you are looking to sign up more people to your email list so you can send them updates about your products. Whatever your goal is, let us know.
What failures are you trying to avoid?
What potential difficulties do you think could get in the way of this project? Sometimes, we work with clients that have never dealt with websites before.
